Exhibition BOGOTA - Twelve positions in contemporary art in a historic building

Opening: April 25, 2013, 1800 hours, at Hotel Bogota, Schlüterstraße 45, 10707 Berlin

BOGOTA – an exhibition of twelve positions in contemporary art that create contrasts with Hotel Bogota’s interior and artworks, reflecting the changeable history of the building. The contemporary works of art enter into a dialog with the stylish, at times quirky and historic interior of the house, in the same idiosyncratic way that the respective owners, guests and rooms once coexisted as four hotels on four separate floors. But in this, the hotel can be no White Cube, but instead the exhibition experiments with the effect art can have beyond its extraction. For a short time, photography, installation, painting, sculpture, and video unfold on the public corridors and lobbies on all floors, complementing the works from the collection of the Hotel Bogota.
